The Blue Ridge Bull Terrier Club, Inc. (BRBTC) looks forward to another year of working successfully with animal shelters, rescue professionals and veterinary centers located in the mid-Atlantic region. The BRBTC is a non-profit 501c3 organization. Our mission has always been to prevent cruelty towards Bull Terriers and we dedicate all of our human and financial resources to the rescue, medical care, rehabilitation and permanent placement of abused, abandoned or unwanted pure-bred Bull Terriers.
If you have a pure-bred Bull Terrier in your shelter or veterinary hospital, or if you know of an individual with a Bull Terrier in need of assistance, I encourage you to contact us and allow us to help. You may call our Bull Terrier emergency hot line at 703-815-7911, or email our Rescue Chair, Julie Shuell if you have one of these animals or if you have any questions. You may also visit our web site: www.brbtc.com
All Blue Ridge rescue dogs receive routine veterinary care, including spay/neuter, before adoption. Upon rescue, some dogs have longer–term or more serious medical issues, treatment for which is also provided by the club. BRBTC does not euthanize dogs because they need extensive medical treatments or surgeries for conditions from which they can recover. The only situations for which euthanasia is used is if a Bull Terrier displays threatening behavior towards people or if a dog is so ill it cannot recover. Otherwise, no matter how old a dog is, Blue Ridge will take them and care for them until they can be evaluated, matched and placed in a permanent home.
Our service region spreads from southern Delaware and central Pennsylvania, through Maryland, Washington D.C. and Virginia to the northern border of North Carolina.
For your information The Blue Ridge Bull Terrier Club elected a new board of directors in January of 2012. The results of this election are as follows:
President – Jimmy Schinner
Vice President – Bill Mayo
Treasurer – John Olson
Secretary –Mike Sullivan
Rescue Chair-person –Julie Shuell
Thank you for your many years of working with us and for your tireless dedication to animal rescue.
Sincerely,
